Intel recently launched the 12th gen Intel® Core™ desktop CPUs with their biggest leap yet in performance from previous generations, thanks to a revolutionary hybrid architecture.

The new line of CPUs from Intel combines two new architectures containing performance and efficient cores. While the Performance-cores (P-cores) allow for maximum performance during gaming and heavy workloads, the Efficient-cores (E-cores) will help handle background processes and multitasking where high-performance isn’t the need.

As these E-cores have a lower power requirement, Intel has improved performance with the new processors without sacrificing energy efficiency. Along with that, because of the core’s smaller size, 12th gen Intel® Core™ desktop CPUs also have a lot more total cores too, so users don’t have to worry about handling multiple tasks at once.

Intel has also partnered up with Microsoft in developing the new Thread Director Technology, which helps the processor to offload tasks to the right cores. With the Thread Director and the recently released operating system in Windows 11, users will gain the best performance out of the 12th gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors during any intensive workload.

Add these pivotal features up and users can see what Intel has been brewing over the past few years as their latest generation of processors has shown a drastic 19% improvement in performance from the previous 11th gen Intel® Core™ desktop CPUs.

More cores, more threads, more performance

The highlight of Intel’s new line of processors is the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K, which has 16 cores split into 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores. Moreover, thanks to the new hyperthreading technology, users will have 24 threads to use with this processor, which will allow them to manage a truckload of tasks with ease.

With the improved amount of threads, the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K posts stellar numbers when it comes to intensive processes. The top of the line processor in Intel’s latest range of CPUs saw a minimum performance increase of 30% on software like Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Lightroom. In Adobe After Effects, the processor performs twice as fast as the previous-gen Intel® Core™ i9-11900K.

Along with the lower power output, the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K will put other processors to shame with its best-in-class single thread performance as well because of the newly introduced P-cores.

Users can further see a jump in performance with overclocking while using Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) software. While many might consider them a hassle to tweak, the software offers a one-click solution in the Intel Speed Optimizer that will automatically oveclock the CPU.

If overclocking isn’t your thing, then Intel’s Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 is your answer for maximizing your output. This enables users to enjoy performance boosts similar to overclocking as the Turbo Boost Max Technology smartly handles performance management by directing tasks to the fastest P-cores.

Peak video game performance with the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K

The 12th gen Intel® Core™ processors will perform at its peak while playing the best PC video games available right now, as Intel claims that the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K is the world’s best gaming processor, and rightfully so.

Thanks to the generational leap in the single core performance, the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K delivers better results against competitors, like the Ryzen 5950x processor. On AAA games like Troy: A Total War Saga and Grid 2019, the Intel® Core™ i9-12900K performs at least 20% better than the competitors available at the moment.

Along with the lightning fast performance of the CPU cores, players who don’t have access to the latest GPUs can heave a sigh of relief as they have the option to purchase processors that also include Intel’s UHD Integrated Graphic Cards.

Future-proof your PC with PCIe 5.0, DDR5 and many more

While the 12th Intel® Core™ Desktop CPUs provide the best performance with current AAA games, Intel has also made sure that they will continue to perform at the highest level for years to come by employing the latest technologies.

While these processors will include PCIe 4.0 lanes, the future transition shouldn't be that hard as they will also include PCIe 5.0 slots as well. With over double the bandwidth from the previous generation, PCIe 5.0 is the future, and the 12th gen Intel® Core™ Desktop processor will help in seamless upgrading for users with those 16 slots.

Furthermore, the new range of processors also provides flexibility for users while choosing the RAM, as they support both DDR4 and DDR5 technology. So, if users already have a pair of powerful DDR4 RAM, then they don’t have to worry about switching to DDR5 right away.

Additionally, it also comes with top of the line features such as Wi-Fi 6E which will help minimize lag and latency issues for users who worry about ping all the time. Pair that with Thunderbolt 4, and players can enjoy the best gaming experience possible with smooth gameplay on 4K displays with high refresh rates.

In a world where gaming technology continues to improve at a rapid pace, Intel’s 12th gen Desktop CPUs will help users future-proof themselves. With the 12th gen Intel® Core™ processors featuring technology like DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, which will become the norm soon, Intel has set a benchmark in delivering top-notch performance that ready for what the future has to offer.

In addition to this, the 12th gen Intel® Core™ processors for PC have delivered on a generational leap while not compromising on energy efficiency. It seems Intel has finally cracked the formula where a single CPU is perfect for gamers, creators, video editors, and basically anyone who has anything to do with a PC.
